The City of York Council owns about 2/3rds of the properties in the Shambles, plus nearby in Whip-Ma-Whop-Ma-Gate and Kings Court. We have shops and seperate offices which are mainly fully let. But occasionally we have vacancies and also the Council may be aware of existing businesses that want to assign leases. The council have a waiting list for people who want to rent a Council property in York and its surrounding area.

Rents start at about £10,000 p.a. for shops and £3,000 p.a. for offices depending on size. Subject to availability.
