Located on Fossgate, Harvilles is a relaxed Art Deco influenced steak and fish restaurant. with lovely dining facilities and an Oyster Cellar Bar with fresh fish counter and saltwater tank. The Oyster Cellar has a large selection of Champagne. A delightful place to meet friends and have a drink or enjoy the freshest seafood, with specials changing daily on the blackboards. Beers and Guinness also on tap.

I'm not sure why Harvilles restaurant doesn't get more attention. Despite having lived in York for three years, I'd never even heard of it until I went last week. The food is fantastic! If, like me, you're a big fan of steak, you'll absolutely love it. Pretty mouthwatering! The only reason I'd give it four stars instead of five is that the service was pretty slow.
