Small and cosy family run Italian Pizzeria and Restaurant. A little walk from Micklegate, not far out beyond the City Walls - this restaraunt is very well priced and the food is superb. A perfect choice for residents of York as well as visitors staying at Micklegate side of the City.

I ate at Lo Spuntino with my wife last night and must stress that the experience is not one that we would wish to repeat. As soon as you walked in there was no atmosphere and the temperature in the restaurant was freezing (the heating certainly had not been turned on). The food was less than average and my wife's risotto just tasted like pure salt. Disgusting!!

The service definatley was not with a smile and a few polite remarks and smile would go along way, especially with food as bad as what was served.

The outside toilets were damp and cold and having to walk through the kitchen to get to the toilet can not be very hygenic.

All in all, this is not a restaurant that we will ever be going back to and one that we would never recommend to our friends. Very very poor!

We went to this place on Thursday 14th August 08. After waiting 30 minutes to even have our orders taken we had to wait even longer to finally eat our starters. We weren't given any bread and when we asked for it were told that it was cooking in the oven. We gave up on that idea and started on our food which was mediocre so we asked for the bill and tried to leave. The chef approached my husband who was trying to pay and a row ensued with the chef accusing my husband of having been there before (he hadn't) and of having caused trouble on that (non-existent) occasion. He then removed the bread, which resembled charcoal from the oven (we would have finished our starters by now) and through it across the floor towards my husband. Even if the food had been half decent the service was so appalling that we would never go back there and will warn anyone we know never to go there.
