This former Elim Pentecostal church in Swinegate, the quarter York has been transformed into one of York’s most upmarket bar and restaurant offering exquisite dining in spacious surroundings.

Upstairs there is a mezzanine floor which hosts a Champagne Bar and Restaurant serving both English and French cuisine in a relaxed surroundings.

Downstairs in this very contemporary styled area, there are sofas , booths and dining areas serving a bistro style menu.

Poor Standards

As a regular, we were very disappointed last Saturday with the service. We were stood at the bar waiting for a drink, there was no eye contact from the staff, no won't be a minute, nothing, after a while we decided to go and left, my good lady went to the toilets on the way out, decided not to bother, they were filthy and went elsewhere, sorry guys it was a sham.

Staff ingnored us and positively sneered when I mentioned I'd reserved a table.
Vegetables were cold,(I suspect frozen- not fresh)and the cauliflower was black in parts. I sent these back. Yorkshire puds were like paper and the pre-sliced beef was cold.
Horrible.
When I went to pay and was asked if I'd enjoyed my meal,I quite frank. The manager apologised, but offer no discount nor so much as a complimentary coffee. I was ripped off.

1 star food, 1 star service, 1 star kitchen complements 5 star prices - disgusted
